Inky ruby.  Smoky raspberry and blackberry aromas are complemented by notes of vanilla, clove and cola.  Cherry-cola and violet pastille flavors are given lift by juicy acidity, which adds back-end cut.  Round, seductive and open-knit right now but some late-arriving, sweet tannins suggest that this wine will reward patience.
