Bright, dark red.  Lively aromas of strawberry, licorice, tea leaf and dried flowers.  Juicy but reticent, showing a restrained sweetness to the rather herbal flavors of tobacco and licorice.  Finishes moderately long, with a slight dry edge and a repeating floral note.  I would have scored this classically dry, nicely balanced wine higher if it had a little more fruit.  Still, it will do just fine with pasta and simply prepared meat dishes.
