Deep ruby.  High-pitched aromas of black raspberry and candied flowers, with notes of licorice and vanilla adding depth.  Broad, palate-coating red and dark berry flavors show very good clarity and become spicier with air.  Supple tannins come on late and fold smoothly into this wine's juicy, energetic fruit.  Here's a 2010 that actually shows well now.
