(blended with 10% cab franc):  Good dark red.  Black cherry, plum, currant and licorice on the nose, along with a whiff of meat.  Concentrated, supple and juicy, offering a fine-grained texture and good depth to its dark fruit and licorice flavors.  (An earlier sample was showing more of its herbal cabernet franc side.)  Not hugely complex but quite stylish, finishing with smooth but gripping tannins.  Very cabernet, and very good value.
