90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - February 2013

Bright golden-yellow.  Powerful aromas of pineapple, honeyed peach and poached pear are accented by lemon rind and floral notes.  Sappy, clinging tropical fruit, peach and candied citrus flavors are complicated by vanilla.  Finishes smooth and clean, with a resonating floral quality, but could use better delineation for an even higher score.  This strikes me as one of the best Trebbiano Spoletino wines ever made by Perticaia; this gently aromatic white grape is garnering increasing interest among producers in Umbria.  Perticaia's version also speaks more clearly of the variety than many others do.
