90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2013
(includes 14% cabernet sauvignon; aged for 18 months in 43% new French oak): Good bright red-ruby. Cassis, mocha, licorice, dark chocolate, graphite and smoky oak on the nose. Lush and sweet on entry, then round and seamless if a bit youthfully reduced in the middle, with cassis, black cherry and sweet oak flavors accented by cooler licorice and menthol notes. A tad medicinal but creamy, not clenched. Finishes broad and rather suave, with smooth tannins and noteworthy persistence. Plenty of personality here.
