(a 50/50 blend of grenache and syrah):  Full ruby.  Dark berries, cherry pit and licorice on the smoke-accented nose and in the mouth.  Shows very good weight and power, especially for the vintage, and finishes with noteworthy thrust and sneaky tannins.  I like this wine's blend of richness and energy.
