(14% alcohol):  Medium-dark red with a pale rim.  Enticing aromas of raspberry, strawberry jelly, rose and violet.  Dense and suave in the mouth, with harmonious acidity lifting the sweet red cherry and dark berry flavors.  Finishes very long, with plenty of mineral zing and a spicy nuance.  Great stuff, in a year that's widely perceived to be less important than many other recent vintages.  I should point out that 100,000 bottles of this high-quality wine were made.
