Bright, dark red. Currant, mocha, cedar and dark chocolate on the subdued nose; less scented than the merlot. Then sweet, supple and seamless, with an inviting creamy middle framed by spicy energy. The flavors of black cherry, herbs and smoke linger on the suavely tannic finish. This, too, punches above its class.
