About Alban Vineyards
John Alban makes some of the most aromatically complex and explosively rich wines in the New World from traditional Rhone varieties. Since 1989 he’s worked entirely with fruit from his own superb clonal material, planted on chalk-rich hillside vineyards in Edna Valley.
93-94 Points | International Wine Cellar , November/December 2013
Glass-staining purple. Pungent aromas of black cherry, blueberry, minerals, violet, licorice and spicecake. Juicy, supple and perfumed in the mouth, with bright acidity lifting cassis, violet pastille and allspice flavors. Finishes long and gently tannic, with sexy oak tones on the back end.
