About Tablas Creek Vineyard
This important estate in Paso Robles, a joint venture between the Perrin family of Châteauneuf du Pape and their long-time importer, Robert Haas, planted its vineyards in the 1990s with clonal selections taken from the southern Rhône Valley. The organically farmed, 120 acre plot contains all the usual suspects: Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache, plus Roussane, Marsanne, and Viognier...
94 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2013
(60% mourvedre, 30% grenache and 10% syrah): Brilliant ruby. Captivating aromas of blueberry, cola, white pepper, Asian spices, incense and smoky minerals. Then sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering dark berry and cherry-cola flavors lifted by notes of lavender and star anise. Finishes smooth and impressively long, with a whiplash of dark berry and spice notes.
