(bottled in July of 2013; partly aged in one- and two-year-old barriques): Good medium red. Plum, tobacco, licorice and nutty oak on the ripe, serious nose. Supple, concentrated and dry; densely packed and voluminous. Shows very good flavor intensity but does not come across as particularly primary following the extended elevage.

Italian white wines ranging from lively and minerally to powerful and full-bodied; cheap
and cheerful Italian red wines in both a cooler, northern style and a richer, warmer southern
style; structured, powerful reds capable of long aging in bottle; sparkling wines;
