About Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue
With it's iconic rooster emblem, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue is one of the most recognizable and revered producers of the Cote de Nuits. Much of this has to do with the estate owning nearly three-quarters of the grand cru Musigny, considered by some to be the finest Pinot Noir vineyard in the world. Founded in 1450, Comte Georges de Vogue managed to gain early stakes in some of Burgundy's most exceptional vineyards.
93-96 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January/February 2014
Bright red-ruby. Explosive, superripe, slightly high-toned aromas of blackberry, peony, orange zest, bitter chocolate and crushed stone. Saline, chewy, stony and tight; much less open-knit today than the Amoureuses, boasting superb density to its black fruit, pepper and spice flavors. Extremely primary, sappy and sweet, finishing with an element of spicy oak, great medicinal reserve and impressive length.
