About Domaine Jean-Marc & Hugues Pavelot
Jean-Marc Pavelot, now joined by his son Hughes, maintains what is arguably the top estate in the underappreciated village of Savigny-lès-Beaune...
88-91 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - January/February 2014
Good dark red. Brooding, ripe aromas of blueberry, licorice, leather and spices. Fat, saline and sweet; open-knit and savory, with very ripe dark berry and chocolate flavors hardened by an edge of peppery acidity. This youthfully disjointed wine will need time to harmonize, as its fruit is in the background right now. Finishes with rather suave tannins and good length.
