(a blend of 65% merlot, 16% syrah, 14% petite sirah and 5% charbono):  Red-ruby.  Aromas of kirsch, licorice, violet and nutty oak.  Nicely concentrated if a bit medicinal; a dark fruit rather than gamey version of syrah.  Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins but filled out nicely with some aeration.
