(aged in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak for 12 months):  Good bright medium ruby.  Sexy aromas of black raspberry, spicy oak and leather.  A juicy, nicely pliant midweight, with well-integrated acidity giving shape and definition to the blackberry and pepper flavors.  Not at all a gamey style of syrah.  Light on its feet and long on the aftertaste, finishing with broad, fine-grained, easygoing tannins that will not get in the way of early enjoyment.
