(80% grenache, with syrah and a bit of mourvedre; vinified entirely with whole clusters):  Deep ruby.  Musky smoke- and spice-tinged aromas of raspberry, cherry pit and garrigue are lifted by a peppery element and a touch of lavender.  Silky, penetrating and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering lively red fruit and floral pastille flavors that put on weight with air.  Closes smooth and long, with velvety tannins coming on late.
