Ruby-red.  Deeply pitched cherry, blackberry and Indian spice aromas are lifted by a captivating rose oil quality.  Juicy and densely packed, showing serious power to its red and dark berry liqueur, cherry-cola and spicecake flavors.  Coats the palate while coming across as energetic and precise.  Finishes with very good vivacity and length, with chewy tannins adding structure and grip.  Here's a '12 that confounds the generalization that this is a universally forward vintage.
