About Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue
With it's iconic rooster emblem, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue is one of the most recognizable and revered producers of the Cote de Nuits. Much of this has to do with the estate owning nearly three-quarters of the grand cru Musigny, considered by some to be the finest Pinot Noir vineyard in the world. Founded in 1450, Comte Georges de Vogue managed to gain early stakes in some of Burgundy's most exceptional vineyards.
92-94 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March/April 1998
Deep aromas of cranberry, blueberry, redcurrant, smoke and herbs; sauvage and soil-inflected. Sappy flavors of framboise and minerals; a step up in sheer size and richness. A wine of compelling fruit rather than sheer power. Shows little ill effect of the racking. More approachable today than either the Amoureuses or the Musigny.
