($50; 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay; disgorged October, 2007) Yellow-gold with a slow bead. Musky pear, redcurrant, lees and herbs on the nose, with a jolt of lemon zest adding vibrancy. Toasty orchard fruit and citrus flavors are deepened by toasted nuts and pick up dusty minerals with air. Rich but also tight, with strong finishing nuttiness and citrus bite. For a plump, juicy wine this is really dry and stony.
