About Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, but it was his daughter-in-law, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin who would catapult it to greatness. The empire that Madam Clicquot built now includes 360 hectares of vines, including 12 of the 17 Grand Crus in Champagne.

($75) Reddish-salmon color. Musky aromas of red fruits and earth, with mushroom and cellar floor notes. Fresher and more youthful in the mouth, with citrus, floral and red berry flavors nicely framed by bright acids. Then quite firm, even backward, on the finish, with good verve.
