($200; Lot AEE2AE) Light, bright straw. High-pitched, mineral-driven aromas of Meyer lemon and orange are strongly accented by vanillin oak, clove and mace. In the mouth the oak is less strident and adds richness to lush citrus and pear flavors, which provide impressive palate coverage. Smoky and penetrating on the finish, which strongly echoes the pear and brown spice notes. Don't open this one anytime soon unless you've got a high tolerance for youthful oak. This is all chardonnay but there's no indication that it's a Blanc de Blancs on the label or bottle. (Moet Hennessy USA, New York, NY)
