About Pride Mountain Vineyards
Nestled above the Spring Mountain fog, on the Napa-Sonoma county line, Pride Mountain Vineyard sits on a former 340-acre agricultural Summit Ranch. In 1989, when Jim and Carolyn Pride purchased the spread they planned on growing grapes to sell, but soon caught the bug and built a winery.
1996 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Franc Sonoma County
Producer: Pride Mountain Vineyards
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Cabernet Franc
Origin: California
Region: Sonoma
88 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1999
Full ruby color. Floral but thoroughly ripe aromas of dark berries, mint, lead pencil and pungent oak; I'm not sure I would have picked this blind as cabernet franc. Dense and ripe in the mouth, with expressive floral and cassis flavors. Finishes with strong tannins and oaky suggestions of scotch and tar that ultimately give the wine a slight dryness.
