There's Nothing Small about this Cab Franc
04/20/2000
by KevinB.
In order to feed the rush of millenial purchasing, many a winery launched special high-profile wines. Beringer's Third Century Cabernet Franc was one of the most impressive featuring intesenly extracted wine from Beringer's Howell Mountain Vineyard. I had the pleasure of tasting this reserve Cab Franc back in the days when they only sold it through the winery's Founder's Room and I'm thrilled to see it finally on the market. This wine has always been among the most hedonistic with waves of deep dark chocolate and a massive velvety mouth feel. Cheers to Beringer for taking the daring leap of introducing a high-profile reserve wine with the words Cabernet Franc on the label instead of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bold, fat & Garrulous

Another bold, fat, and garrulous charmer from the west coast. I hope you're eating steak when you drink it-worth every penny.

On the Right Bank, the grape is found in the clay soils of St. Emilion, where it...
