About Silver Oak Cellars

Prestigious and fashionable, Silver Oak produces only two wines, its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are medium-bodied and smooth, with exotic suggestions of bourbon, cocoa butter and chocolate from the American oak barrels in which they are aged for 30 months or longer.

Bright red-ruby color. Black cherry, chocolate, minerals and tarry, smoky oak on the nose. Supple, oaky and pliant, with ripe, moderately deep berry flavors complicated by notes of leather and tobacco. The tannins are slightly dry but the wine is already quite approachable.

Fantastic

Deep ruby in color and hardly showing signs of age - but for the sediment, I would have never guessed this was a 10 year old wine. A nice bouquet of lush black cherries and soft oak. The palate is wonderful - a rich black cherry flavor, followed by an an explosion of vanilla and soft cedar at the end. I can only describe the finish of this wine as being like a firework you didn't know was going to go off. The balance on this wine is virtually perfect.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Silver Oak. One of my favorites...I love the berry undertones you find in Alexander Valley cabs.

Powerful consumer interest in California wine is driven by two major factors. The more obvious reason is that California's best wines, which come from grapes grown in...

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon built its reputation on Bordeaux's Left Bank. Moving slightly south, Cabernet Sauvignon meets Merlot in roughly equal proportions in the red wines of Graves. In both of these Bordeaux regions, the top bottles...
