Even with a slight green bean note in the nose, this wine has proven to be a solid performer over time and has developed a seamless mix of ripe cherries and vanillin oak in both nose and flavor. Its supple, rounded entry and smooth passage across the palate signal a wine that is nearing its peak stage of development, but there are no signs of "give up" here and another five years of rewarding drinking is entirely likely. $40 and one star when first reviewed.
