Ruby-red. Explosive aromas of redcurrant, plum, roasted nuts, leather, meat, cigar tobacco and Burgundian earth; much less primary than usual for a wine from this vineyard. Thick and pliant in the mouth, but with good rather than outstanding flavor development. Hints at the greenness of the vintage and finishes with a faint edge of acidity. But certainly long on personality.
