About Arrowood Vineyards and Winery
Chardonnay and Cabernet are the most important varieties from a commercial standpoint at Arrowood, but the Viogniers and unusually rich barrel-aged Pinot Blanc have been consistently excellent for many years...

Grape Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: California
Region: Sonoma
87-88 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1999
Deep ruby. Blueberry, leather, game and an inky, menthol austerity on the nose. Plump in the middle but slightly green around the edges. I don't find the even ripeness of the vintage here. Finishes with tongue-dusting tannins and a repeating green streak.

Fab Cab

the only Sonoma cab that really ranks top notch; Dick Arrowood nails this wine every year but especially did a great job in 1997. Aged it and drank when it was 10 years old and it tasted fresh, young with fruit but had mellowed just enough to remove any 'edges'
Excellent

I just tasted this, and it seems as if the maturation of this wine Mr. Tanzer speaks of is right on the money. Beautiful texture with delicious tannins which I'm sure will show more exquisite in time.

I had this wine in a restaurant the other night and was highly impressed with its character. Considered an outstanding vintage in Napa, this Sonoma wine exhibited some of the best notes of the better Napa wines. The nose was very well developed for a '97, with the rounded and balanced taste of a much older wine. A great value for the price to hold or cellar.
