87 Points | International Wine Cellar , January/February 2001

Very good deep red-ruby. Fruit-driven aromas of cherry, licorice and mint. Lush and fleshy in the mouth, with a flavor of spicy black cherry. Finishes with fairly firm tannins and a leathery nuance. Mascarello describes the 1998 vintage as "almost too powerful for dolcetto, with alcohol in the 13% range."
