Cherry-red. Moderately ripe, more rustic aromas of pepper, smoke and tobacco. More herbal flavors of red cherry and pepper. Distinctly less ripe and drier than Ferraton's '97 Cuvée des Miaux. I don't get a lot of texture or concentration. Limited buffering material to support the wine's alcohol and acids. But the tannins are rather light.
