More About This Wine
About Chateau Palmer
Chateau Palmer may have been classified a Third Growth in 1855, but today it routinely challenges Chateau Margaux for "best of the appellation" status. This "Super Second" has routinely picked up the slack in years that Margaux has fallen short.
1998 Chateau Palmer Margaux
Producer: Chateau Palmer
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Margaux
90-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1999
Very deep purple-ruby. Perfumed, ripe aromas of blackberry and vanilla. High-pitched but thick in the mouth, with a sweet flavor of blackberry syrup and firm underlying backbone. Finishes with very strong dark berry fruit and big, tongue-coating tannins.
