1995 Lewis Cellars Merlot Reserve Napa Valley

Medium-dark red. Cherry, redcurrant, loam and scotch on the nose, plus an odd citric quality. Juicy, spicy and fairly intense, with a strong component of sweet oak. Seems a bit dried by the wood. Finishes with rather drying tannins and a note of bourbon.
