More About This Wine
About Chateau Clerc Milon
In 1970, the Rothschild family purchased Chateau Clerc Milon and gave it new life (the Fifth Growth estate had been suffering for years because of legal battles concerning ownership). Stainless steel vats were installed in the winery, new oak was introduced into the barrels and, as you might imagine, quality quickly improved.
1996 Chateau Clerc Milon Pauillac
Producer: Chateau Clerc Milon
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Pauillac
88-90 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1998
Very good red-ruby. Redcurrant, blueberry, and lead pencil on the aromatic nose. Tighter in the mouth than the Armailhac; gives an impression of higher acidity and more aggressive structure. But opened nicely to show good black cherry and cassis fruit. Finer and more delineated than the above.
