Mouton-Rothschild may be almost as recognizable for its bottles, which feature labels specially commissioned from famous artists of the day, but really, we're all about what's inside the bottle. This is often the most exotic and perfumed wine of the Médoc, and Mouton Rothschild is also the only chateau in Bordeaux to be elevated from second- to first-growth status since 1855, receiving the honor in 1973. The dramatic cassis and black cherry fruitiness, and mineral and graphite notes of Mouton-Rothschild, are complemented by nuances of smoke, char, coffee and chocolate from the 100% new oak barrels.
