5+ STARS

Maybe Praesent drank it too soon to only give this 4 stars. In 2012 the balance of every consideration of wine met all required fields. Seasoned Grilled Lamb chops and pan seared Scallops were over shadowed by this Magnificent bottle of wine. It's a steal at present pricing. Mine was a gift to me in 1992. Store well my friends!

The last glass took many minutes, savoring every last sip. A good wine to drink with open oak grilled lamp chops without salt. Truly magnificant.
Awesome!!

This is what a Bordeaux should taste like!! There should be no arguing over this wine, it cannot get any better. Great from begining to end, textbook Bordeaux, worth its 100 rating!! If you like this one, try 1990 Dominus.

I cannot agree with the 5 stars by DARKHORSE. Although the 1988 Mouton is the best Mouton between 1986 and 1995, it is not top rank, classical, typical and very good, but no challenge e.g. for the 1988 Lafite, 1988 Tertre-Roteboeuf (!) or 1989 Haut-Brion. But all following Mouton vintages until 1995 are rather dissapointing.
