In the early 18th century, Jean Francois de Pontet, Royal Governor of the Medoc, purchased several vineyards and united them under the banner of Pontet. Today, this Pauillac Chateau is owned by cognac magnate Guy Tesseron. His son Alfred manages the 80 hectare vineyard.

Medium red-ruby. Black raspberry, espresso and smoky oak on the nose. Supple and fairly dense, but with lovely vinosity. Some acidity yet to be absorbed. Just a suggestion of greenness. A rather serious claret with the structure to reward aging.
