90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - March/April 2001

Deep red-ruby. Crushed redcurrant, raspberry, cassis and red cherry on the Chambolle-like nose. Dense and silky in the mouth, with urgent crushed berry and cherry flavors complicated by oak spice. Strong acids give the flavors a sappy quality. Rather muscular for a Drouhin wine, but this has compelling fruit and a lovely restrained sweetness. Finishes with a peppery note and powerful spine.
