The Petrus was the one Merlot dominated wine of the evening. Most of the tasters thought it was a California wine, given its heft and the roasted fruit flavors. I have drunk it four times within the last year, and as consistent and impressive as this botlet was, it may have been the least succulent of the four. Even so, it was a fabulous wine, with intense mineral, chocolate and plum flavors, great depth and a long finish. 95 points
