About Harlan Estate
In 1983, when Bill Harlan bought an estate in a steep, forested area of Oakville, his aim was to create a Napa Valley First Growth. Whether he has come that far is open to argument, but he certainly has come close.
1991 Harlan Estate Red Wine Napa Valley
Producer: Harlan Estate
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: California
Region: Napa
? Points | International Wine Cellar , June 2010
Good full red. Quite evolved on the nose, showing mushroom, earth and nuts but little in the way of fruit. The nutty quality carries through in the mouth, with some edgy acidity and dusty tannins giving the wine a dry quality. Past its best years.
