93-97 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2000

Brilliant deep ruby-blue. Superripe, sappy aromas of black fruits, maple syrup, licorice and game, plus a roasted, resiny nuance. Very thick and dense and magnificently concentrated, but strong acids give the black fruit flavors great delineation. Finishes with explosive length and huge, ripe tannins that suffuse the palate. An extraordinary sample. López says he may add a bit of press wine to give the wine even more structure. Tasted in Artadi cold cave in the walls of Laguardia's chateau.
