About Chateau Angelus
Located just west of the town of Saint-Emilion, Angélus is extroverted as Bordeaux gets, with saturated dark ruby color, considerable power and richness and huge but ripe tannins. A sizable Cabernet Franc component typically adds aromatic complexity and freshness to this decidedly modern-style wine. South-facing vineyards help the grapes attain full ripeness, contributing to the intensity of the wine. Cousins Hubert de Boüard de Laforest and Jean-Bernard Grenié run the estate, which was promoted to Prémier Grand Cru Classé status in 1996.
