fine stuff

body, heft, a kick in the pants for a white, with a lovely finish and nice aromas. Could hold up to a lot of different foods (pork would be wonderful).
Star from the Loire
by Marc Mandeville
Light, crisp, focused & somewhat acidic (in a good way). Would stand up to your blackest of blackened fish or your lobster steamed and coated with butter. Crisp fruit nose, quite focused and delicious. NOTE: For a truly great look into the wines of Poniatowski, pick up this wine along with it's 1989 counterpart (yes, of course Moore Bros. has it). Same package, same varietal...TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE! The '89 is a mouth-coating, round, lush, sweeter (more res. sugar) wine. It's amazing to see what terroir can do to a wine in any given year and these two vintages are a prime example.
white salmon dinner
by Jobe
mineral(limestone), dry, and acidic. Although it was a very good match, perhaps something a little less dry would be appropriate for the rich creamy flavor of the white salmon. This wine would probably be perfect for a farm raised salmon or char. It would also go well with oyster's both pacific and easten varieties. note: may go well with seared scallops as a marinade and an accompaniement.

In all styles, expect high levels of acid that can provide tremendous amounts of balance to these wines...
