90-92 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1998

Saturated ruby-red. Superripe aromas of blackcurrant, graphite and cedary oak. Very concentrated and sweetly oaky in the mouth; a deep kernel of sweetness suggests that this wine possesses the sheer material to reward extended cellaring. Substantial ripe tannins coat the entire mouth. Very long on the aftertaste.

I recommend this wine, although you are looking for a different winery and a different Vintage. Unfortunately, we don't have many 1990 Bordeaux in stock anylonger. This 1996 Leoville Barton is absolutely delicious and will age very greacefully. I definetely recommend to put this wine aside for a couple of years. It will be an absolutely delightful to drink it.

Very tight, very structured. Reminiscent of the 1989 vintage of this wine. This certainly needs at least 10+ years, and I'm still not sure what it will amount to.
