90 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2000

Saturated dark ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis, baking chocolate, flowers and walnut skin; hints at a more evolved tawny port aspect. Supersweet and velvety in the mouth; very concentrated, with ripeness just short of raisiny. Possesses decent acidity but could use a bit more verve. This lush, harmonious wine is deceptively approachable today; does it have the backbone for extended development in bottle? (Martine Wines, Novato, CA)
