Outstanding Sauternes from Recent Vintages

My early look at Bordeaux’s sweet wines of 2007 suggests that this vintage will be the region’s greatest since 2001. Until those wines are in the bottle, though, here are my favorites from the best recent vintages: the pure, fruit-driven 2005s; the sweet, soft and extravagantly rich 2003, and the powerful, structured and classic 2001s.
