2000 Chateau Le Doyenne Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux
Don't know where this one has been lying around but it hasn't lost a step. A surprising find, and it has to be one of the best values I have seen in a long time. Perfect structure and built for food, just kick back and enjoy.

2004 G.D. Vajra Barolo
This was a great wine. Dark and pensive, even a bit rustic....just like it should be. This wine has plenty of life ahead of it, but is actually not nearly as harsh and tannic as it can be this young. I look forward to future tastings.

2005 Salvestrin Retaggio Napa Valley
I am usually very suspect of any California 'SuperTuscan' inspired wines, right from the get-go. But this wine surprised me. With a bit of a grimace on my face, I sneaked in for a taste. To my surprise, it was palatable.... more

2006 Arnot-Roberts Syrah Griffin's Lair Vineyard Sonoma Coast
I thought this wine was very solid. Exactly what you want in California Syrah, with a healthy dose of white pepper on the nose. Tasty.
