Chateau Lafleur Tasting March 2009
Xmas 2008 I got a very nice present: an invitation to a public Chateau Lafleur tasting. The tasting took place beginning of March 2009 in a Rheingau winery. Surprisingly the Lafleur owners Mrs. and Mr. Guinaudeau attended the meeting. By the way: Chateau Grand Village is a Bordeaux Superieur made by the Chateau Lafleur equipe.

Brilliant red color. Mature wine with a very nice nose: leather, cheryy, coffee, ..., smooth, levitating tannins on the palate. Good finish. 94-95 points.

Full dark red color. Rich nose: cherry, plum, cassis, leather, coffee, and minerals! Full and smooth on the palate. Very long and smooth finish. Wow. 95-96 points.

Dark color. Nearly no nose. Very closed. On the palate incisive tannins. However, an endless finish (lasted +5 min) that saves the 90(+) points.

My favorite wine of the tasting. Black-red color. Nose: cherry, plum, coffee, chocolate, leather, truffels, licorice, ... wonderful. Smooth palate with silky tannins. 20s finish. 96-97 Points

Dark red color. Not much of a nose and a thin palate. Maybe works good as an everydaż wine for an everyday dinner. 84-85 points.
