Opaque purple to the rim. Dense blueberry jam and blackberry notes burst from the glass, layered with violets and savory spice. Mouth-filling with a beautiful silky texture, the “Todos” displays excellent purity of fruit and a long and balanced finished. This wine is drinking fantastically now, and has a decade ahead of it.
Bold and dark ruby-purple in the glass, bursting with classic Cabernet notes of blackcurrant, mocha, anise, and subtle toasty notes framed by new wood cedar. Full bodied, boasting silky black fruit, alluring earthy notes and purple florals, a rich and lingering finish is braced by fine-grained tannins. Enjoy now for its opulent, youthful, black-fruited purity, or cellar for at least a decade.
The last of back-to-back drought years since 2012, the 2016 harvest season saw a low-crop vintage. There were no heat spikes, and grapes ripened slowly and evenly, with softer, riper tannins emerging as the hallmark of the vintage. Deep ruby to the rim, with lively aromas of black cherry, cracked pepper, rhubarb, and sun-kissed herbs. Silken red-berry fruit mingles with black cherry compote and garrigue notes. Supple tea-tannins are buttressed by fresh and juicy acidity. Enjoy now-2025.
Deep purple to the rim with aromas of ripe plum, violets, and hint of vanilla. Supple on entry with velour-like texture and staggering ancient-vine concentration, loaded to its dark-fruited core with ripe boysenberry, sweet spice, and cola, bracketed by round tannins and exuberant acidity, into a long finish suggesting 6 to 7 years of longevity.
“A beautifully complex Crémant, easily confused for a top-shelf Champagne. In the glass, finely delineated beads of the Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut NV burst with ripe apple and pithy grapefruit notes. Round and elegant on the palate with lively acidity, complex citrus notes are underscored by roughly 10% of reserve wines blended in from exceptional vintages, which unfolds in creamier layers hinting at baked fruit and notes of brioche. Excellent length and tension on an energetic and crisp mineral finish.”
The 2016 Tiefenbrunner is straw-yellow in color. Lively lemon citrus, orchard fruit, and white floral aromas. Supple and round, buzzing with ripe pear and apple notes, accented by citrus peel and meadow grass. Maturation on the fine lees adds depth and complexity atop zippy acidity. The finish is marked by terrific chalky minerality, courtesy of the vigneti delle Dolomiti. Drink through 2022.
