Brianne Day’s first vintage of just 125 cases sold out immediately; she now makes a few thousand. Famously, it was a grapevine tattoo on her arm that caught the attention of a customer while she was waiting tables at Portland’s Little Bird—one of four jobs she was working to afford her second harvest. After learning about her vision to start a winery, the customer became a patron and investor, and her business has skyrocketed since. 

The Vin de Days Blanc is the perfect example of her offbeat, intuitive style, which emphasizes the versatility of Oregon terroir. A seamlessly integrated blend of white grapes from six top Willamette Valley sites—including Anne Amie, Twelve Oaks, Momtazi, Meredith Mitchell, Nemarniki, and Le Beau—each contributes to the form and personality of this vivacious bottle. The resulting wine is pinpoint-focused, but round and soft on the palate with a hint of richness and white peach sweetness.
