Bring the Extraordinary to Valentine’s Day

Treat your valentine (and yourself) to something remarkable this year. A set of two bottles picked by our Master Sommelier and Master of Wine team to transform your evening into extraordinary. Start the celebration with a bottle of the definitive rosé Champagne, Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé, a 96-point favorite from the lists of the Ritz and Nobu. Continue on to the deeper side with what Matt Deller MW deems “the greatest collectible Bordeaux buy right now” — 2012 Chateau Clos Dubreuil Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. It’s a Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 95-point “home run” and the ideal bottle to bring the celebratory evening to its peak.

Ultimate Valentine’s Set Includes:

Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose NV

Whether you prefer the classic, Old World grandeur at La Tour d’Argent and The Ritz London, or the refined, simple elegance at Nobu, you can savour Laurent-Perrier’s Cuvée Rosé. Why? When it comes to Rosé Champagne, the iconic Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé is in a class of its own. Securing this very special allocation wasn’t easy, as the lion’s share was slated for top sommeliers who had heard that in January of this year Laurent-Perrier newly disgorged the latest“Cuvée Rosé” — and a shipment of those just-disgorged bottles just hit U.S. shores. These bottles are as fresh and vibrant as can be, direct from the cellars in the Tours-sur-Marne Grand Cru just east of Épernay. A mainstay at the world’s gastronomic palaces. 96 points from The Connoisseurs’ Guide, for the DEFINITIVE Rosé Champagne.

2012 Chateau Clos Dubreuil St. Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux

I’ve been asked several times recently, “which classified Bordeaux red should I buy for the cellar?” So, here it is, the wine I consider the greatest collectable Bordeaux buy right now: 2012 Clos Dubreuil. It is an exceptionally good Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Bordeaux-blend at an astonishingly reasonable price. Robert Parker agrees, rating it 95 points, just one point below the 2012 Ausone Premier Grand Cru Classé ($650) and the 2012 Petrus ($1,800), and scoring it higher than even the 2012 Cheval Blanc ($525), Château Lafleur ($500) and Château Angelus ($345). With Clos Dubreuil offered at $129 per bottle, this is undoubtedly the finest Saint-Émilion Grand Cru bargain available right now.
